Take a break

We live in such a busy world. Most of us by the time we get up the world is already in fast pace motion. Our schedules are so full we hardly get time to take regular breaks and when we do pause we feel guilty. We feel like naughty girls.

Whenever we get too busy, stress and mood swings are inevitable. That’s why it’s important for us to take regular breaks during long days without feeling ashamed or weak. We need to be able to stop and reflect instead of just trying to do everything when we know our bodies and minds have
been over worked. I always say, “I am a spirit filled woman, not super woman.” You don’t have to be superwoman at all. Each person has 24 hours a day and God knows we can only do so much in that period. Another side to this is you don’t have to feel bad when
you have not been able to complete everything on your to do list. I hear you asking me “why”. The answer is simple, because you have another day coming up. Give your self a break and carry on the next day. If you are a stay at home parent and you are thinking, There is no way I can get out the house for regular breaks leaving my kids behind.” You need not to worry. Taking regular breaks doesn’t necessarily mean you have to go out for a cup of coffee at your favorite coffee spot or head to the shopping mall. Taking a break is all about switching minds. It’s about giving your mind a break from the draining tasks at hand. You can do this by simply closing your self in a room and communing with God. Listening is also useful. This is how I relax my mind, by going before God and letting Him know how I feel and how my day has been so far. I ask Him to direct my steps as well as
strengthen me to complete everything else  that I have to do. Sometimes He will give me a new way of handling a difficult task that had not crossed my mind or lead my attention to a very different task. Whatever you enjoy doing do it during your regular breaks. Pick up that book your friend bought you months ago and you haven’t had a chance to dig in to it yet, try baking a cake or just sitting in silence. Just don’t make the breaks too long and too often. It’s all about balance ladies.

Researches have shown that there are a number of benefits for taking regular breaks:
